Mission Pilgrimage Trip
Mission Pilgrimage
Southwest Good Samaritan Ministries
October 6 – 11
We have an exciting trip planned this fall for our Mission Pilgrimage to Southwest Good Samaritan Ministry in the Rio Grande Valley. The trip will be October 6-11. We will have a wide variety of work projects for us to do–home repairs, assisting their staff with a laundry list of different services. Joel would assign us work/service projects based on our group’s job skills. We will also have an opportunity to learn first-hand about what is happening at our border and volunteer with some of the local agencies assisting migrants and asylum seekers.
Reach out to Melanie Williams with any questions.
Prom Dreams Boutique - Homecoming Season
September 8 – October 3 | 5:00pm – 7:00pm | Prom Dreams Boutique
Volunteer shifts begin 30 minutes before the Boutique opens. If you are able to help on Thursday evenings but can’t arrive until 5pm, please let us know. If you sign up for a shift and end up with a conflict, you can arrange for someone else to cover for you, or you can let Melanie Williams know and she will put out an email about filling the slot. You can sign up for two back to back shifts on the same night if you are willing and able to open and close the Boutique.
Thank you for the gift of your time and for making Homecoming Dreams come true!

October 5 | 10:00am – 12:00pm | Room 150 and Main Parking Lot
As people of faith and conscience, our shared values call us to be good stewards of our Sacred Earth. Right now, transportation is the #1 source of climate pollution in the United States. One way to help mitigate transportation pollution is by organizing your congregation to support the transition to electric vehicles. Over the course of their lifetimes, EVs generate significantly less climate pollution than comparable gasoline-powered vehicles. This includes all of the resources used in manufacturing the vehicle, the battery, and powering the vehicle. Plus, electricity generation across the US continues to get cleaner, meaning that these benefits will grow in future years.
The National Drive Electric Week (NDEW), presented by our friends at Plug In America, EVHybridNoire, Sierra Club, Drive Electric USA, and the Electric Vehicle Association, is a nationwide celebration to raise awareness of the many benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. will showcase various makes and models of electric vehicles (EV), with the goal of educating the public on the benefits of owning and operating EVs.
