For Middle and High School

You are welcome here!

Hello, and welcome to the UCC Youth Ministry page! UCC Youth is for students in grades 6-12 and is usually divided by middle school (Chi Rho) and high school (CYF). Fellowship, faith development, and fun are a few things we focus on with UCC Youth and we do so in a variety of ways! See below how we celebrate community while learning more about our faith!

Sunday Mornings

Join us on the third floor (Room 303) at 10:00AM for breakfast and fellowship with all youth! We’ll chat about Sunday’s sermon and discuss how it applies to the lives of our youth. Sunday mornings are a great time to check in with friends and youth mentors. If your youth wants to check out a worship service during this hour instead, don’t worry! There’s more time for fellowship on Sunday nights.

Sunday Nights

Sunday evenings are filled with faith development and fun! We begin at 6:00PM with a shared meal called “snack supper” that is provided by a different youth family each week. We then spend time playing favorite large-group games after dinner, so be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes! Once we’re all out of breath from games, we settle in for the night to talk about how we continue to live our lives as people of faith. These conversations are separated into Chi Rho and CYF groups, which allows for topics to be more relevant for the varying faith and life stages.

Community Groups (Wednesday Nights)

Community Groups are small groups that meet weekly for one hour on Wednesday nights at 6:30PM in the homes of our amazing church members! These intentionally created spaces are initially divided into Chi Rho and CYF with the option for additional groups to be made based on gender, geographical location, etc. The best part about these groups? The youth decide what to discuss! Each group will work with their leaders to decide what their focus will be throughout the year, which allows for a variety of faith-related subjects to be followed. Some examples of previously chosen topics include: the creation story, the identity of God, how social media impacts our faith, and how faith informs our understanding of justice. Light snacks are also provided during this time.
All events are sponsored and led by approved volunteers and ministry staff members to ensure the safety of all youth. We hope to see you soon and are always willing to answer any questions!
