June 16 (Father’s Day)

When we dedicate children to God, parents make  a covenant to raise their children in homes where the Spirit of Christ is present and the UCC faith community makes a covenant to pray for, serve and support these families. We are reminded of God’s promise of love for all of God’s children when we surround families in prayer and covenant. There is no perfect age for your child and family to participate in dedications. When you are ready, please contact [email protected] to confirm a dedication.

Blessing of the Backpacks

August 14

During TEN:10 and 11am worship we will bless the beginning of the school year with our blessing of the backpacks. Elementary children in our Discovery or Children’s Worship programs will go together to the service of blessing. Preschool parents can bring their children to the worship service and join in the blessing too. Each child will receive a blessing backpack tag to remind them that they are loved and prayed for by their church.

BRIDGE

Parent's Night Out

January 20 (RSVP Deadline January 13)
February 17 (RSVP Deadline February 10)

Compassion is one of our core values and large amounts of it are required when raising young children. Everyone in a family needs a chance to re-charge their compassion batteries and Parents Night Out is designed to help everyone. Children, infants through fifth grade, are invited to spend a fun night at UCC creating relationships while parents have an opportunity to get away and reconnect. Join us!

Bible Storytelling Workshop

University Christian Church is committed to helping children with literacy. One area of often forgotten literacy skills are in the art of retelling stories. Rebekah Carlile and Leigh Scanlon, founders of Story Stage, focus on helping children learn all skills of literacy and are bringing their unique skills and techniques to our parents to encourage families to tell and re-tell Bible stories with ease and meaning. Join us for breakfast, how-to skills, and take away resources to help your children’s literacy and faith growth.
