Uppity Women of the Bible-Judith by Dr. Lisa Wolfe The Book of Judith never made it into the Christian canon, but she is a favorite character, among women, for her heroic deed to save the people of Israel from their enemies. Judith is characterized by her strength and the essence of an “uppity woman” who steps out of her comfort zone to be faithful with lots of intrigue in her story. Wonderful opportunity for good discussion about the often, unsung roles of women in the biblical texts.
