Refugee Services has welcomed over 150 Afghan individuals to Fort Worth over the past 2 months! With so many families arriving at once, they have not been able to secure housing for everyone. We are currently providing temporary housing for a family of 11 at the church and need volunteers to help serve as hosts at the church. The family we are hosting will move in to their own apartment after Thanksgiving (date TBD) and volunteers are needed to help move and assemble furniture, and serve mentors after the family is settled. We are currently collecting household items for a newly arrived family of 4 and the family of 11 who has been staying at the church.  Please review the Apartment Shopping List to see current needs and learn more. We ask that you do not drop off items without signing up for them first or contacting Meg Pitts.
