ROOM IN THE INN (RITI) provides UCC members of all ages a way to extend hospitality to men experiencing homelessness in our community by welcoming them to our church for a delicious dinner, a peaceful night’s sleep, and hearty breakfast before they return to True Worth Place, their daytime shelter.

Most of all, offer our guests friendship, and affirmation that they are beloved children of God, worthy of hospitality, respect and encouragement.

Room in the Inn is a nation-wide program. About eighteen churches in Tarrant County participate by open their doors one night a week in the hottest and coldest months of the year—July and August, December, January and February. There are many ways in which you can serve. Some UCC participants transport guests to and from True Worth Place. Others greet and share dinner with them. Innkeepers spend the night. Behind the scenes, a host of volunteers make beds, set the tables, prepare food, and serve the meal. Parents introduce their children to the concept of service by working with them to make beds, or prepare a dish to be served.
