About Tyler ...

Tyler Heston began serving as Assistant Minister for Middle School, providing leadership for UCC’s ministries to youth in grades six through eighth, in August of 2015. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Tyler moved to Fort Worth to pursue a Master of Divinity at Brite Divinity School. Tyler received his Bachelor of Liberal Studies (with a concentration in Religion in Society) from the University of Memphis and a certification as a Nonprofit Professional from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance in May 2015.

Although Tyler is not a lifelong Disciple, he was a member of and served as a deacon for Kingsway Christian Church in Germantown, Tennessee, before moving to Fort Worth. He has extensive experience working with middle school youth as a Sunday school teacher and mission trip sponsor at Central Church in Collierville, Tennessee, where he grew up, and has served as a summer intern with both Mosaic Church in Chicago, Illinois, and the Friends of Jesus Fellowship in Detroit, Michigan.

Tyler is grateful to be at UCC, a community that embodies the good news of Jesus Christ with open minds and loving hearts, and to be invited into the lives of the young folk in the congregation through youth groups, retreats, mission trips, and other events. Aside from church and school, Tyler spends his time listening to music (such as Beyoncé and Sufjan Stevens), watching television (especially The X-Files), travelling, and exploring Fort Worth with friends.

You can contact Tyler via phone at 817.926.6631 (extension 268) or by e-mail at . Aside from church on Sundays, Tyler will be at UCC on Mondays through Thursdays in the Assistant Ministers' office (Room 316).
