I was born in River Oaks, Texas. But before I was old enough to have any early Texas memories, my family moved to Hawaii. I graduated from Kailua High School and then the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.
I am married to Martha, who retired after a 40-year career with Birdville ISD and now teaches at Dallas Baptist University.
We have a son, Drew, a daughter-in-law, Erin, and two grandchildren, Ethan and Sydney. Drew and Erin both graduated from TCU, were married in our Sanctuary, work as educators in Fort Worth ISD and are members of UCC.
I retired after a 40-year career in public education. I now spend my time with committees at UCC, with my grandkids, and volunteering at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.
