Art Busbey received his B.S. (1974) and M.S. (1977) in Geology at the University of Texas at Austin. He also received a Ph.D. (1982) in Anatomy from the University of Chicago. Art was a lecturer in Geology at UTA and has been a geology professor at TCU since 1985. At TCU, in addition to teaching and research responsibilities, he served on the Faculty Senate for over 20 years, including a term as Chair of the Senate.
Art and his wife Janet have been married 41 years and have two daughters. Art’s eldest daughter and her husband are permanent residents in Islington, London, while his youngest daughter remains local living in Fort Worth.
In 1985, Art started attending UCC and joined in 1991, the same year he received tenure at TCU. Art has served UCC in many roles—has ushered since 1993, has been an early service co-captain usher since 1996, has been serving on the Board of Stewards for the past two years, served two terms as Deacon, is an Elder and just finished his second term as Chair of the Worship Life Committee. Art is also a long-time member of the Logos Class.
